I'm considering the 5530 to break into app development in symbian. The price is right and the phone looks nice.

Anyways, just saying hi~

you know the apps are generally built for symbian OS9.4 not for the 5530 . if NOKIA do that you mentioned they will destroy theyr smartphones in generall not only 5530.So I would say that the new symbian is very fresh to thrown away

Well all my previous apps have been written in j2me primarily for blackberry phones and nokia has a pretty active development community which is why I purchased a nokia phone.

If apps can be ported to other phones im cool with it but my primary focus is the 5530 and eventually the N900.

My friend N900 is somewhat bigger while it's price is double. It is a whole new philossophy of mobile phones and so it's not comparable with 5530. If you search for something hot go for N900 while the 5530 will be a budget choice Smiley
